UUNet acquires Canadian Internet company

UUNet Technologies, Fairfax, Vir., the first commercial Internet service provider, has acquired all of the stock of Metrix Interlink Corp., a Canadian Internet services provider based in Montreal. Metrix Interlink has Points of Presence in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City, and specializes in high-speed corporate connections to the Internet and backbone services for large networks. UUNET Canada, after combining its existing operations with those of Metrix Interlink, will become the leader in Canadian high-bandwidth Internet infrastructure.
