Chesebrough-Pond's Vaseline skincare brand is scaling new heights in promotional events by sponsoring the first climb by a woman of Mount Everest. Equipped with various Vaseline lip and skincare products to protect against dryness, chapping and sunburn, Sandy Hill Pittman left the U.S. for Tibet March 16 with the Vaseline Research '94 Expedition. The climbers expect to reach the mountain's summit this month, with updates appearing in USA Today and also in videotaped segments on NBC-TV's "Today Show." Ms. Pittman displays the Vaseline Research logo in all media appearances surrounding the climb. Cairns & Associates, New York, coordinated and is publicizing the promotion. Though not your stereotypical executive's wife, Ms. Pittman is married to Robert W. Pittman, president-CEO of Time Warner Enterprises.
