VERIZON TAKES AD REQUESTING CUSTOMER PATIENCE

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Verizon Communications breaks ads tomorrow in New York metro area newspapers requesting customers be patient with service disruptions in the wake of the World Trade Center attacks.

The ad, created by Interpublic Public Group of Cos.' Lowe Lintas & Partners, New York, takes the form of a letter to customers acknowledging that Verizon understands they are experiencing problems and that it appreciates their patience.

The ad also offers a contact number for service requests and a location in lower Manhattan where customers can go to log complaints.

Prepared in Asian and Hispanic versions in addition to English, the ad will run in The New York Times, New York Post, New York Daily News, Staten Island Advance, Bergen Record and Newark Star-Ledger, among others.
