(July 25, 2001) -- Michael Hirschorn, a founder and editor in chief of media news site Inside.com, is the latest senior staffer to defect from the site since its merger with Brill's Content.

As senior vice president of news and production for VH1, Hirschorn will oversee the development of VH1 News specials and documentaries, in addition to the channel's daily news-gathering operations. He also will be responsible for VH1's video hours and part of the network's regular non-fiction programming.

Hirschorn's broad mission will be to find the next hit franchise to follow the station's wildly successful program Behind the Music. -- Adrienne Mand
