(Aug. 28, 2001) -- Former Viacom CEO Frank Biondi is the lead investor in a new cable network, the Tennis Channel, set to launch next year.

Sports marketing firm IMG is also an investor and will help develop programming for the channel devoted to tennis around the clock.

Programming will include ATP Tour events; Sanex WTA, Senior Men's Tour and World Team Tennis; replays of classic matches and instructional shows.

Wilson Sporting Goods and Prince have committed as advertisers, the network said. No distribution figures for the channel's launch were released. -- David Goetzl
