Video: Julie Roehm Before the Fall

Interview Excerpts From Her Fourth Month at Wal-Mart

Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Earlier this year, four months after she began her new job with Wal-Mart in Bentonville, Julie Roehm spoke on camera with Advertising Age about how excited she was to be part of the change going on inside the headquarters of the world's largest retailer.

The former director of marketing communications at Chrysler in Detroit spoke of the differences between the Motor City and her new home at a Hampton Inn in the northwest corner of Arkansas.

She noted that she was part of a new marketing "approach that's fresh" at Wal-Mart -- a situation she characterized as "an opportunity made in heaven for me."
