(July 3, 2001) -- Vindigo, which develops navigation applications for mobile devices such as Palm hand-held units, said today that it had received a second round of funding totaling $6.2 million.

Previous investors, including JP Morgan/Chase, Flatiron Partners, General Atlantic Partners, Stephens' Ventures and Gradient Ventures, have signed on to the new round. The company, which launched its flagship product a year ago, now has over 500,000 users. The company also trimmed staff from 35 to 30. -- Catharine P. Taylor
