The agencies fighting it out are: Duesseldorfbased Rempen & Partner (Campus net), FCB/Wilkens and Grabarz & Partner, both Hamburg-based, plus Start Advertising, Munich.
In recent years, Volvo Germany, which has no agency network allocated, has increasingly used work created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, London, and the Swedish Forsman & Bodenfors agency for new vehicle launches.
A decision on the new German agency is expected before year-end.
Media, which is not expected to move, is handled by MediaCom, Duesseldorf.
