(April 30, 2001) -- Mark LaNeve, since last summer president-CEO of Ford Motor Co.'s Volvo Cars of North America, will return to General Motors Corp. May 1 as general manager of its Cadillac division. Mr. LaNeve joined Volvo in fall 1997 as vice president of marketing after 16 years at GM, where he had held marketing and sales jobs, mostly at Cadillac, although his last post was as Pontiac Bonneville brand manager. He succeeds Mike O'Malley, who left last week to join WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson USA, Detroit, as global business director on the Ford account. -- Jean Halliday
