VP of ad sales exits troubled XFL

Bob Riordan, VP-advertising sales at the troubled XFL, has resigned to take a post as executive VP-advertising sales for College Television Network, according to execs close to the XFL. WWF Entertainment and General Electric Co.'s NBC are 50-50 owners in the XFL, which has seen ratings plummet over the last four weeks. American Honda Motor Co. backed out of the nascent football league after the first week, but other advertisers appear to be in for the reminder of the season. Mr. Riordan couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
