VW takes Beetle ads out for spin

Published on .

Volkswagen of America unveiled print ad "ideas" at the Detroit auto show for the launch of its new Beetle in the spring. The executions, from Arnold Communications, Boston, offered cute headlines on a white background, a small shot of the car and VW's tag "Drivers wanted." Among the headlines: "Less flower. More power"; "If you were really good in a past life you get to come back as something better"; "If you sold your soul in the '80s, here's your chance to buy it back"; and "0-60? Yes."
