‘Wall Street Journal’ to start new page-one column

Published on .

Beginning Jan. 4, The Wall Street Journal will replace its long-running front-page "Business Bulletin" column with one focusing on economic-policy developments called "Capital." It will be written by 17-year Journal veteran David Wessel, who's covered economic policy for the paper since 1987 save for a just-completed 15-month stint as its Berlin bureau chief. Mr. Wessel, 46, will be based in Washington.
