Published on .

Wal-Mart Stores' Walmart.com division acquired the content assets of Garden.com, a defunct online retailer of gardening products. Wal-Mart did not disclose transaction terms. The assets acquired include Garden.com's editorial, interactive and film content. Products will be offered for sale in Wal-Mart's garden centers nationwide. Garden.com closed last year after failing to raise additional funding. Garden.com said it sold other assets relating to customer information and its domain name to Burpee Holding, parent of gardening company W. Atlee Burpee & Co.
