Walt Disney Co.'s Miramax Films is getting into the magazine business with a big splash, a title edited by Tina Brown and shepherded by Ron Galotti. Disney has not made any effort so far to put its publishing divisions under one roof. Disney Publishing produces FamilyFun and Discover; Fair-child Publications, W, Jane and Women's Wear Daily; and Disney is a partner with ESPN and Hearst Magazines in ESPN Magazine. So far, the market does not see much downside in keeping those operations separate. The stock split late last week.
