Wanamaker runs review for Verizon

Wanamaker Associates, Atlanta, is running a $40 million review for Verizon Wireless' 14-state Northwest area based in Bellevue, Wash. The incumbent, Interpublic Group of Cos.' Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis, is participating in the review for creative and media-planning duties, according to Ken Bowes, president, Wanamaker. Media buying will remain at Publicis Groupe and Cordiant Communications Group's Zenith Media, New York. A list of 20 agencies will be pared to around seven, then four finalists. A decision is expected in the spring.
