Warner-Lambert Co. said it has purchased Glaxo Wellcome's U.S. and European interest in the Warner Wellcome joint venture for $1.05 billion. Newly named Warner-Lambert Consumer Healthcare will market Sudafed, Actifed, Neosporin and other over-the-counter brands. Melvin R. Goodes, chairman-CEO, said the move "represents a giant step on the path to achieving our goal of becoming the leading OTC marketer by the end of the decade." No agency changes are expected.
