America Online and the Weather Channel Web site, weather.com, today announced a multiyear agreement making weather.com the premier weather information provider to all AOL services including AOL, AOL.com, Netscape Netcenter and CompuServe.com. AOL will receive promotion on the Weather Channel cable network and in other weather.com promotional outlets. In related news, AOL struck a deal with EMusic.com to supply AOL users with music for purchase and download on AOL's ICQ, Spinner and Winamp services. EMusic.com and the ICQ, Spinner and Winamp brands will cross-promote digital music products through reciprocal links, Web advertising and other marketing initiatives. EMusic.com also will develop co-branded sites with ICQ, Spinner and Winamp for downloadable music. Under the non-exclusive, three-year agreement, EMusic.com will pay AOL a fixed marketing fee as well as a share of transaction revenue.
