HONG KONG--The Web Connection, the Hong Kong-based subsidiary of chinadotcom corp., has opened offices in Singapore and Taiwan.

The Web Connection develops end-to-end Internet solutions -- including Web site development, technology integration, e-consulting and online marketing services -- to multinationals and dot-com start-ups, and already has offices outside Hong Kong in Tokyo and Seoul. Two additional offices in Beijing and Shanghai are expected to open in the coming weeks.

"The Internet industry in Asia is experiencing explosive growth," says Steve McKay, Web Connection's president and chief operating officer in Hong Kong. The Web Connection's clients include HSBC, Cisco Systems, General Motors Corp., Samsung Corp., Procter & Gamble Co. and Cathay Pacific Airways.

Earlier this year, the Web Connection entered into an agreement to distribute and support Net Perceptions' technology throughout China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan in a bid to be the leading source for realtime personalization technology in the region.

"Asia is experiencing a huge demand for Web-based portals and personalized e-commerce," adds Mr. McKay.
