Another Web grocery venture

Published on .

Shopping Alternatives, Bethesda, Md., on Monday launched a home shopping and delivery service called The Supermarket Connection.

The Supermarket Connection's site links package-goods marketers' Web sites to its Web site for free through Jan. 1, a spokeswoman said. Fees will be announced for linking after that date.

The site allows shoppers to order products from participating brands such as Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay, Hershey, Perrier, Snapple and Ragu. Grocers participating include Shaw's Supermarkets, Byerly's, Scolari's Food & Drug, Cub Foods, Petrini's, Pathmark Stores and Wal-Mart Supercenter stores. Additional grocers will be announced early next year.
