WebTV meets Fujitsu in Japan

WebTV Networks and Fujitsu plan to form a joint venture company to establish a TV-based Internet service in Japan, using the technology developed by WebTV Networks. Fujitsu will build a network operations center for and provide Internet access and various online content to the subscription-based WebTV Network service. WebTV Networks will own 65% of the WebTV/Fujitsu joint venture company and Fujitsu will own 35%. WebTV Networks and Fujitsu will form alliances with companies in various fields, including consumer electronics, Internet access and media and content to establish the new service.
