Time Inc.'s Southern Progress Corp., Birmingham, Ala., agreed to sell Weight Watchers Magazine
back to Weight Watchers International. In 1996, WWI, then owned by H.J. Heinz Co., sold the magazine to Southern Progress. Under Time Inc., the magazine dramatically increased ad pages and circulation. WWI, however, was purchased four months ago from Heinz by Artal Luxombourg, and the new management wanted to regain the magazine.
