German haircare marketer Wella has told longtime agency BBDO
Worldwide, Duesseldorf, that it plans to ask ad agencies to make a presentation for its estimated $50 million global advertising account. Last year, Wella spent approximately $19 million on advertising in its home German market. BBDO handles Wella's consumer account, while Hamburg-based KNSK handles the beauty parlor account. Wella has been aggressively pushing into the mass market as younger women frequent beauty salons less often and increasingly style their own hair.
