Wendy's crosses Mexican border

Published on .

Wendy's International, Dublin, Ohio, will open a new Wendy's unit this month in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. It will be the first of 100 restaurants to open in Mexico over the next decade through a partnership between franchisees in that country and in Venezuela. A new company called Wenco Mexico was formed in the agreement and will manage the new unit. Separately, Wendy's reported June same-store sales grew 2.4% over 1999.
