Whittman-Hart, USWeb set for merger

Whittman-Hart, Chicago, expects to complete its takeover of USWeb/CKS, San Francisco, March 1, following shareholder approval of the merger Feb. 28. The merger will create a powerful, Chicago-based global professional i-services business with more than 70 offices in 13 countries. It combines the Internet services and systems integration of Whittman-Hart with the Web and creative skills of USWeb, the largest i-shop on Ad Age's Interactive 100. Whittman-Hart CEO Robert Bernard will be president-CEO; USWeb CEO Robert Shaw will be chairman. The merged venture will announce a new name at a Feb. 23 analysts' meeting.
