Wiele to leave Gruner for Alex Springer

Andreas Wiele, 37, will join the executive board of Axel Springer Verlag, Hamburg, and take the title of president-magazines, Germany and international. Mr. Wiele currently is exec VP-chief operating officer at Gruner & Jahr USA Publishing, New York. John Heins, Gruner & Jahr USA's president-CEO, left in March to join Netscape as VP-international sales and marketing. His replacement is expected to be named this month. No replacement was immediately named for Mr. Wiele, who was primarily responsible for the company's two largest women's magazines, Family Circle and McCall's.
