Mr. Wilhite said he will focus on sales and marketing opportunities as well as product development and long-term corporate strategy for the company, which is best known for representing automotive publishers.
Back on track
He has been working as a consultant since his unexpected resignation from Hyundai Motor America last September. He had been chief operating officer at the automaker for only 13 months. His experience includes stints as VP-global marketing of Nissan and senior marketing executive of Volkswagen of America.
Jumpstart, founded in 2000, does business with carmakers, large dealers, regional dealer ad groups and related industries, such as finance companies.
Mr. Wilhite said he expects to spend two weeks monthly at Jumpstart headquarters in San Francisco, and a week each at its Santa Monica, Calif., and suburban-Detroit offices.
