Wintour not taking 'leave' at 'Vogue'

Published on .

Vogue denied reports that longtime Editor Anna Wintour will be taking a summerlong leave. Articles in an Australian online fashion magazine and an Italian newspaper said Ms. Wintour would be taking a leave of absence. The Australian magazine said Marion Hume, former editor of Australian Vogue, would take Ms. Wintour's place in the U.S. for three months. A Vogue spokesman in New York today said Ms. Wintour is to fill in for Fashion News Director Katherine Betts, who is due to go on maternity leave. The spokesman called the Australian article "a complete piece of fiction."
