Published on .

(June 13, 2001) -- The Wireless Advertising Association is drafting standards for mobile and wireless advertising, to be unveiled June 26 at a WAA meeting in San francisco. The standards are the result of research into four platform/protocol areas: wireless application protocol, known as WAP, personal digital assistants, short message service and voice/audio portals. Members of the association include DoubleClick, WPP Group's Ogilvy Interactive, Microsoft Corp. and The Weather Channel. -- Catharine P. Taylor
