WorldGate launches Internet over cable TV

Published on .

Following a beta test, WorldGate Communications and Charter Communications will roll out Internet over cable TV to customers in St. Louis beginning April 21, adding several other major markets this summer, including Los Angeles. The service uses General Instrument's set-top terminal, and allows customers to jump from TV programming to the Internet using a remote control. The service has signed up more than 30 programming partners, including Showtime, the Weather Channel, HBO and other networks.
