Salama is responsible for developing and implementing WPP's strategy. Since assuming this role in 1994, he has concentrated on practice development, knowledge sharing, developing integrated teams for clients and management training. Previously he was joint managing director of the Henley Centre, a strategic marketing consultancy owned by WPP. Maxwell has had a multinational management and marketingcareer with Philip Morris, including 20 years as a board member. He was chairman of Philip Morris from 1984 to 1991.
