WPP buys 11% of Aussie shop

WPP Group, London, bought 2.5 million shares, or about 11%, of Singleton Group, Sydney, the majority owner of Singleton Ogilvy & Mather in Australia. WPP-owned Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide had already merged its Australian office with the John Singleton agency in July. WPP's total stake in the agency and through Singleton Group is now about 40%.
