WPP up for quarter

WPP Group, London, said revenues in the third quarter of 1995 rose by 9.5% over the same quarter in 1994 to $594.7 million. Excluding the effect of currency movements, acquisitions and disposals, revenues rose by 8.2%. In the first nine months of 1995, revenues rose by 7.9% to $1.762 billion. In the third quarter, WPP said, revenue growth was slightly above the group average in continental Europe and significantly above average in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

While North American revenue growth as a whole was below the group average, the company said, its media advertising interests (represented by J. Walter Thompson Co. and Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide) had revenue growth of more than 10%.
