WPP Group, London, reported first-quarter revenue climbed 10% from a year ago. On a constant currency basis, North American revenue grew most, by 14%. Public relations and public affairs saw the greatest revenue growth among functions, at almost 23%; advertising, media planning and buying, and research was up almost 5%. WPP said it's in line to achieve the objective of increasing its operating margins from 12.8% to 13.4% in 1999.
