(May 14, 2001) -- WPP Group-owned Young & Rubicam's Impiric, New York, was named the Internet agency of record for Citigroup's $3 million AOL Financial Services Alliance account. Impiric, chosen after a review that included five undisclosed agencies, already handles direct marketing duties for the financial giant's banking and card businesses on a global basis.

Impiric's brief for the new account win is to develop online advertising units -- banners, button, text links, jump pages -- for the partnership between AOL Time Warner's America Online and Citigroup. That venture gives Citigroup divisions, including Citibank Online, Travelers Insurance and Citi Credit Cards, ad placements in AOL properties.
