Wren gets Omnicom CEO title

Published on .

Omnicom Group, New York, named John Wren its new CEO, effective Jan. 1, as expected. Mr. Wren, 44, will retain the title of president, while outgoing CEO Bruce Crawford, 67, will remain chairman. The two men have worked together for the past eight years. Mr. Wren has been with Omnicom since its formation in 1986; before that, he was with Omnicom co-founding agency Needham, Harper Worldwide. Since 1993, he has been CEO of Diversified Agency Services, an Omnicom division that includes nearly all of the company's holdings except for its three large international agency networks.
