Spots Featured Lauren Hutton and Patti LaBelle

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Wyeth is not running ads for its Prempro hormone replacement drug in the wake of a new study suggesting the drug could increase the risk of heart disease and breast cancer, among other problems.

The marketer had used actress/model Lauren Hutton and singer Patti LaBelle in campaigns.

'New information'
A Wyeth spokeswoman said the company is following "standard practice" and is "reviewing its communications as it would when any new information comes out."

She said she was not sure whether ads were pulled out of circulation or whether ads were on hiatus.

"We're evaluating the situation," said another Wyeth spokesman, who said the company does not comment on ad and marketing plans.
