Young & Rubicam Advertising Creative Director Ted Bell is taking a personal leave from the agency. He will take three months off to concentrate on writing a book. The move is unrelated to New York-based Young & Rubicam's impending acquisition by WPP Group, insiders said. Y&R Inc. Chairman-Chief Creative Officer Ed Vick expects Mr. Bell to return. He said in a statement: "Ted is a good friend and valued colleague, and I expect him to play a pivotal role in making Young & Rubicam the best global agency in the business in the next year and a half." Mr. Bell joined Y&R in 1992.
