Peter Stringham, former chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam North America, has joined London-based HSBC Holdings, a leading international financial-services company, as head of group marketing. Mr. Stringham, 51, left Y&R in October when the agency was acquired by WPP Group. The Canadian-born executive takes over from Mary-Jo Jacobi, who left HSBC to join Lehman Brothers about two months ago. Mr. Stringham assumes his post Jan. 15. He will report to HSBC Group Chief Executive Keith Whitson.
