Y&R, SAN FRANCISCO, CUTS UP TO 12 JOBS

By Published on .

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- WPP Group's Y&R Advertising, San Francisco, laid off between 10 and 12 employees Monday, an agency executive said.

The shop, whose clients include Chevron/Texaco and VeriSign, is in the process of restructuring its 85-person office and looking for a new chief executive following the departure of President-CEO Austin McGhie, 45, who announced he is leaving the agency.

The layoff is the latest in a year in which most San Francisco agencies have trimmed staff and a number of shops have closed their doors.
