Yack drops consumer business for syndication

Yack is dropping its consumer business model in favor of syndicating and licensing its online program guides, as well as making money through ad sales and partnership fees. The New York-based company, which provides listings of online events, streaming programs and chats, said it would model its business after TV listing companies. Yack named Victoria Quoss, general manager of the new Yack marketing & sales division. Ms. Quoss was formerly with streaming media company Microcast. It also named Robert Klein, formerly VP-online sales at About.com, VP-sales.
