Yahoo! adds sales power

Yahoo! is opening sales offices in Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, New York and San Francisco. The Santa Clara, Calif.-based search engine developer also plans to hire 25 sales reps by yearend. "Our objective is to create a stronger local presence and provide consultation for local advertisers in creating customized promotions," said Karen Edwards, director of marketing at Yahoo!. Yahoo! is winding down a repping relationship with Softbank Interactive Marketing. SIM will continue to work for Yahoo! but on a limited basis.
