Yahoo Brazil starts up, AOL Brazil to follow

Published on .

RIO DE JANEIRO--Yahoo! this week launches a Brazil search tool as America Online plans to place AOL Brazil on the Web by the end of the year. AOL Brazil aims to become the country's top access provider, ahead of current local leaders Universo Online, Zaz and Mandic, according to its head of operations, Francisco Loureiro. He says that an in-house team, instead of an outside agency, may be in charge of a heavy promotional campaign later this year.
