(April 6, 2001) -- The digital music arena heated up again Thursday with news that Yahoo! would partner with Duet to market the subscription music service throughout Yahoo!. Duet, which expects to launch this summer, is being backed by Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. The service, one of several that has been created in the wake of the popularity of the free Napster service, will also offer consumers music from other labels, although all music will be subject to some sort of fee. -- Catharine P.
