Yahoo! announced March 20 that it appointed Gregory Coleman as executive vice president of its North American operations. Mr. Coleman, who will take the post late next month, will be responsible for driving Yahoo!'s North American sales, marketing and client services organizations, as well as consumer services and programming initiatives. Mr. Coleman was previously senior vice president of Reader's Digest Association and president of U.S. magazine publishing.

March has been a difficult month for the Internet giant, which has suffered some top defections amid warnings that it would not meet first-quarter financial expectations. The company is currently looking to replace outgoing CEO Tim Koogle, who plans to step down from the post as soon as a replacement is named. -- Bonnie Tsui
