Yahoo! picks Google for search

Yahoo! selected the popular new search engine Google to be its default search engine. Yahoo!, which expects to have Google integrated into its offerings within 30 days, will use Google to complement its directory Web results. Google, a privately held company in Mountain View, Calif., is backed by investors including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Capital. Inktomi currently provides search services for Yahoo! Google in May selected Pickett Advertising, San Francisco, for an estimated $5 million advertising campaign. Print ads and radio spots are set to break soon.
