Yankowski exits Sony

Sony Electronics, Park Ridge, N.J., said Carl Yankowski resigned as president-chief operating officer, effective immediately, ``to address immediate family health issues, and thereafter to seek another challenging leadership position in business." Mr. Yankowski ran the North American electronics arm of Japan's Sony Corp. for four years. Taking his place as president-chief operating officer, effective April 1, will be Teruaki Aoki, currently corporate senior VP and president of Computer Peripherals & Components Co. in Tokyo. Howard Stringer, president of Sony Corp. of America, adds the title of Sony Electronics chairman, effective immediately.
