Yogen Fruz bids for Eskimo Pie

Yogen Fruz Worldwide, Toronto, made a $10.25 per share offer for all the outstanding stock of Eskimo Pie Corp., Richmond, Va. Through its Integrated Brands subsidiary, Yogen Fruz owns foodservice outlets I Can't Believe It's Not Yogurt and Bresler's Ice Cream, and markets licensed novelty brands in supermarkets under the names Trixx, Tropicana, Yoplait, Colombo and Betty Crocker. Eskimo Pie, which reported sales of $51.3 million for the six months ended in June, markets licensed brands under the Welch's, Weight Watchers, SnackWell's and Oreo names. Eskimo Pie's lead agency is Carter Ryley Thomas EPB, Richmond; Yogen Fruz`s agency couldn't be determined at deadline.
