New York Times Co. acquires the Worcester Telegram & Gazette

The New York Times Co. signed an agreement with Chronicle Publishing Co. to acquire the Worcester (Mass.) Telegram & Gazette for about $295 million. The Telegram & Gazette is the largest paper in Worcester County, located west of Boston. It has a daily circulation of 107,000 and a Sunday circulation of 134,000. The New York Times Co. also owns The Boston Globe.
