ZD Net is developing a series of strategies to broaden its user base beyond computer and technology aficionados. The latest effort, Bill's Best of Everything
, aims to provide useful, interesting information to consumers. Featuring such odd stats "Best Female Stunt Pilot," "Best Beach Sand in the World" and "Best Razor for Guys with Tough Beards and Sensitive Skin," the site purports to offer an offbeat look at culture and the Web. It's the brainchild of Bill Machrone, Ziff-Davis' VP-technology.
"It's an important step towards an ever-broader audience, one that reaches well beyond our traditional reader base. At the same time, it appeals to the non-computer side of our regular readers," said Dan Farber, VP and editor in chief of ZD Net.
