ZDNet names Briggs U.S. president

ZDNet, San Francisco, promoted Exec VP Barry Briggs to the new post of president of ZDNet U.S. Mr. Briggs, who joined the tech site in 1997, previously worked for Ziff-Davis' magazine group and was a VP at Time Warner. CEO Dan Rosensweig will focus on strategic direction of the company and global expansion; Mr. Briggs will oversee day-to-day management of ZDNet's domestic business.
